A busy first day

We had a pretty busy day to start with here in the Valley. We first went to callspark, a small start up located in downtown San Francisco. The creators of the team were "serial entrepreneurs" as Brad called it. This may be why they had enough finances to go without being paid as they nurtured this communication tool into development.

After that, we went to a very delicious Thai restaurant, where we met up with Alison Johnston from Aardvark. She was probably the best person we could have had met up with. As a young Standford Grad, she explained things super well and was extremely engaging- the second proved to be very useful as this day was super long and tiring. That's actually why this blog is posted so late, because I was so exhausted after that day I went to bed @ 10 and slept until we had to leave in the morning.

Our last official meeting of the day was with Matt Van Horn, from Digg. He was also young and very engaging. The advice he gave us for entering into the workforce and the methods of doing so was extremely helpful and intimidating at the same time.

The evening ended with a networking event @ SF New Tech. We heard about lots of new apps, like moodagent (would have been my fave if it actually worked well), Apptizr, tvchatter, temptd, radioweave, soundbiter, caregiver, polka, soundofmotion & iSpy. After the event when we were meeting outside, a tech geek chased after me and said "Hey you look interesting, what do you do?" This was probably the best pickup line I've had thrown at me thus far in life. Best part was he had no idea I wasn't an entrepreneur but actually a student when a group who was standing right behind him and laughing. His name was Bear, of the Teddy sort. Pretty funny night and a great day in general.
